The holidays are over and the real chill is about to set in, as if 21 degrees was not cold enough already. January and February in my area are quite frankly, brutal. Just when you think you can handle winter it gets even more fierce. After forty years of facing the old man, I have learned to arm myself with a few defenses. First of all, a hat. I would not have been caught dead wearing a winter hat as a teenager but, now, I don't leave home without it. Good boots are essential, as well as anything fleece! But, my all time favorite winter coping mechanism is hot cocoa.
I drink so much hot cocoa this time of year that I have to change it up a bit each time. Through my experimenting, I have managed to nail quite a few fantastic hot cocoa recipes, if I do say so myself. My very favorites are listed below, and for ultimate convenience, they have all been made using my Keurig® brewer and K-Cup® hot cocoa pods!
As you can see these concoctions are fairly simple and require little forethought. Just look around your kitchen and experiment with new flavors! Hot Cocoa K-Cup pods make it easy not only in preparation but, in flavor. Chocolate tends to play off and accentuate anything you match it with so be brave, you just might find your next favorite!
