The anticipation was intense, the build up was exciting...Keurig led us on for months with hints about the stunning new Kcup pod brewer they would be releasing- Keurig 2.0. This highly coveted piece of machinery was going to revolutionize our morning cup of joe and for many it did but, unfortunately Keurig 2.0 left others outraged.
Coffee drinkers turned out in droves to be the first to try this remarkable new coffee brewer only to be left with an empty mug when they got home. What big box retailers failed to inform their customers was Keurig 2.0 would only brew certain Kcups. They further exasperated the issue by continuing to sell Kcup coffee pods that would not brew with 2.0, issuing the dreaded oops message.
Let me follow up by saying, I am a huge fan of the new brewing technology that comes with Keurig 2.0. In addition, I do not condone using off brand Kcup pods as it is simply not what is best for the machine and may affect the warranty. With over 200 varieties of approved coffees and teas, certainly you can find one that suits your tastes.
However, I like you, despise being told what to do or in this case what to drink.
For the rebels like us, there is an option. There are still several models of Keurig brewers available that will brew any Kcup coffee. All of the classic Keurig models that were here long before Keurig 2.0 are still around. Ranging from the K40 all the way up to the K3000. My very favorite still remains the K140/145 commercial grade brewer. This unit is built to last in any home or office and gives you more bang for your buck.
Most importantly the K140/145 will brew any type of Kcup coffee pod.
So we can all stop feeling as if we have lost our freedom of choice. Purchase a classic Keurig model and you will be brewin' any darn thing you want!
