Have you noticed to ever-growing number of roasters offering their coffee in a Kcup? Big names from Starbucks to Folgers, Dunkin Donuts to Caribou are jumping on the Keurig Kcup coffee train. This is great for you the consumer but, poses the question of which to choose.
I had a nice descriptive, professional post planned introducing you to one of our favorite Kcup coffee roasters Tully’s coffee. But, that all had to be changed… there is now a bigger story to tell. Ladies, listen up. Not only does Tully’s coffee offer a high quality roast with a European flair but, they are now owned by… wait for it…the one, the only, the mcdreamy- Patrick Dempsey!
Mr. Dempsey was brave enough to face Starbucks head on in a bidding war for the smaller Tully’s coffee shops based in Seattle. Mcdreamy wisely noticed the huge potential in Tullys with their superior product. I have read reports that he plans to spruce up the cafes, improve employee morale and update book-keeping process’. When that is all up to his standards he plans to take Tullys national.
This has proven that not only is Patrick handsome but he is apparently a savvy businessman. Tullys has the potential in my opinion to surpass even the most popular national coffee shops. As I stated the coffee has a european flair, with depth and complexity. What it does not have is the burnt taste that turns a lot of people away from Starbucks.
I give Patrick and his company Global Baristas LLC kudos for saving thousands of jobs by rescuing Tullys from bankruptcy and demise.
I am anxious to see what happens in the next year with Tullys coffee. Let’s hope for an expansion of roasts available in Kcups. Currently there are four varieties of Tullys coffee available in single serve:
Patrick, if you are reading this we want more, four is not enough! How about a Colombian and perhaps a Kona? And your eyes are amazing. Love, your biggest fan.
