Back by popular demand- Friday Kcup reviews! Every Friday at Cross Country Cafe we host a flavor review. Let's face it the selection of K-cups we have to choose from is huge, how do you pick the right one? Who wants to buy an entire box and not like it?! Our goal is to describe how the coffee or tea tastes in simple layman's terms so that you can determine if it suits your preferences.
Let's get to the review, up this week...
Chai latte is a specialty coffee house beverage brought to us by the masters of indulgence, Cafe Escapes.
Cafe Escapes believes that you should do something nice for yourself everyday. Enjoy a simple pleasure, relax and unwind. They definitely do a great job in helping us by providing some absolutely amazing Kcup flavors such as chai latte, cafe mocha, cafe vanilla, cafe caramel. dark and milk hot cocoa! They have allowed us to bring the coffee shop home and enjoy specialty drinks in our own at the touch of a button.
Chai latte is a black tea paired with a perfect combination of spices including cinnamon, cardamom, clove and black pepper. All colliding with sweetened milk to create an exotic, creamy treat. This Kcup does contain milk and sugar but is gluten and trans fat free. Caffeine is present but very minimal (less than 10mg per cup). Each Kcup will set you back about 60 calories- nothing for a delicious treat!
I brewed my Chai Latte on the middle water setting on the Keurig brewer. The result was a thick bodied, caramel colored sent from heaven tea!
The aromas of the various spices filled the air instantly. The first sip was creamy and sweet but spicy at the same time. A very interesting combination. It truly felt indulgent and tasted decadent. This is the perfect dessert beverage, perhaps replacing those high calorie pies and cakes. This will satisfy your sweet tooth and leave you feeling relaxed.
I would recommend Chai Latte Keurig Kcups to those who enjoy cream and sugar in their tea. If you are a flavored coffee drinker or a lover of mochas and cocoas this is a great choice for you. Strictly black coffee consumers, you may not be a fan but, if you have a sweet tooth, it is a possibility!
