After 10 years of distributing Keurig Kcup brewers and coffee,  we have been asked every Keurig question there is and solved a lot of issues leaving our customers happily brewing for many years. Throughout this time there are several questions that seem to come up repeatedly. 

We have compiled a list of the top 10 Keurig questions (and of course their answers) to help you navigate this revolutionary world of single cup brewing. It may seem daunting at first but, dont worry, sit back and relax...we have got you covered. 

 

1) Is the water temperature adjustable?

Yes, on some units it is including the Special Edition, Ultimate, Platinum, Select, Cuisinart, Breville and OfficePRO Premier. All other units are preset to the recommended 192 degrees for optimal results.

 

2) Can I make iced coffee or tea with my Keurig brewer?

3) How do I fix a short brew?

If you Keurig suddenly has a mind of it's own and decides to only fill your mug half way, don't panic, there is a solution.  The most common cause is a clogged exit needle (the needle that punctures the Kcup on the top and bottom).  Simply run a water only brew cycle and you should be good as new! If that does not solve it, I have been known to stick a paper clip into the needles to clear out any larger clogs. 

 

4) How do I clean (descale) my Keurig brewer?

It is absolutely essential that you clean your brewer every 3-6 months using Keurig descaling solution. Click here to learn how.

 

5) How much power does a Keurig use?

The simple answer is- about the same amount as a 60 watt light bulb.  For those of you who prefer to be a bit more technical- 1500 watts when heating and 200-400 while idle. 

 

6) What type of water should I use in my Keurig brewer? 

Water is another essential element in the longevity of you brewer.  For the best results in both your units health and the taste of your water you should choose filtered or a low mineral drinking water.  Softened water is not recommended. 

 

7) Can I get replacement parts for my brewer?

8) Do Keurig brewers come with a warranty?

Yes, Keurig is famous for honoring their 1 year limited warranty.

 

9) Why am I getting grinds in my cup?

There are coffee grinds in one of the needles that puncture the Kcup.  Run a water only brew cycle to clean them out and you will be enjoying grind free coffee in no time!

10) Can I fill a travel mug with my Keurig?

Yes you can.  Simply remove the drip tray to allow room for the taller cup. You can either brew two Kcups on a lower water setting or an extra bold Kcup coffee on the highest water setting to fill 'er to the rim.
