We have been intrigued by the Folgers K-cup coffees for quite some time and thrilled to recently add them to our line up. How can you go wrong with such a modern day classic? Folgers has been in our lives for many, many years and now that they have jumped on the Keurig K-cup bandwagon, I suspect they will be around for even more!
There are five varieties of coffees available in the Folgers brand. Two are flavored K-cup coffees- Vanilla Biscotti (read my review here) and Caramel Drizzle as well as Classic Roast, Lively Colombian and Black Silk.
Today I was excited to try Folgers Classic, a medium roast Keurig K-cup coffee. I chose to brew my Classic Roast K-cup on the highest water setting of my Keurig brewer. Right away the rich, delicious smell of fresh, gourmet coffee completely filled the air. I knew that if this K-cup coffee tasted anywhere near as good as it smells, I was in for a real treat.
I was pleasantly surprised to find very minimal translucency in my cup. I could just barely see the bottom of my mug. For a medium roast this is quite a dark cup of coffee.
The first sip was insanely smooth and rich, both properties that Folgers is famous for. Behind that initial silkiness was a pleasant bite, a punch of darkness and depth. It was an interesting combination that left me extremely satisfied. I never thought that I would say Folgers coffee is complex but, it is! There are depths and layers that can only be attributed to expert craftsmanship.
I must ask you to give this K-cup a try, I am astonished at how much I like it and thrilled to be able to recommend it to our readers. This is the first K-cup that I would suggest to light, medium and dark roast fans. It simply will appeal to the masses but, not in a boring bland way. I think that any coffee drinker would be happy with this delicious cup of coffee with the exception of flavored K-cup lovers but, Vanilla Biscotti would be a great alternative.
