Cafe Vanilla Keurig K-cups are an indulgent treat brought to us by the company that does "me time" better than anyone- Cafe Escapes. Cafe Escapes has managed to bring the coffee house home, allowing us to brew amazing barista style beverages in the comfort of our own home.
Cafe Vanilla is not your ordinary K-cup. This is a creamy beverage that is meant to be an indulgence rather than your morning joe. There is only about 10mg of caffeine per K-cup, good news for the many of us who like to sip on one last K-cup before bed. The entire line of Cafe Escape K-cups come ready to brew with the milk and sweetener already added.
I chose to brew my Cafe Vanilla K-cup on the highest water setting of my Keurig knowing from other Cafe Escapes that it could stand up to the extra water.
There are certain K-cups that strike you with their amazing aroma and this is definitely one of them. The appearance was that of coffee with a heavy amount of cream added. A light caramel, beige sort of color with a thick body and no translucency.
I expected this K-cup to be heavy and overdone with flavor. I was way off. The body is definitely thick and creamy but somehow manages to maintain a pleasant lightness. The flavor is a modest vanilla with a surprising hint of butter. Sweetness is definitely present however, it is by no means overpowering.
This K-cup is very poplar with the teenagers in my household but, I simply never thought to try it myself- that was a mistake! This one is a keeper.
If you are a fan of Cafe Escapes Chai Latte, then this is right up your alley, You. Must. Try. Today. Tea and flavored coffee drinkers, I would recommend Cafe Vanilla to you as well. It is difficult to say whether or not medium and dark roast K-cup connoisseur's will like this K-cup as that isn't exactly comparing apples to apples. I would suggest however, that dark roast lovers combine Cafe Vanilla with one of their favorite dark roast K-cups just to give it a bit more of a coffee flavor.
Oh and in case you are wondering, there are only about 70 calories per Cafe Vanilla K-cup- not too bad for so much flavor!
