As many of you already know Keurig Green Mountain likes to tease us each season with the release of a limited edition coffee. I for one anticipate the arrival of each and every variety including - Pumpkin Spice, Eggnog, Gingerbread, Golden French Toast and Island Coconut. Up until now they have always been a flavored coffee that is appropriate for the given time of year. But, get this- Green Mountain has taken it up a notch and added a regular roast K-cup for each season as well!
Autumn Harvest is a Fair Trade certified K-cup coffee. This K-cups consists of a blend of 100% Arabica medium and French roast beans.
I chose to brew my Autumn Harvest K-cup on the highest water setting of my Keurig. I had a feeling with the French Roast beans that it would be able to stand up to the larger amount of water without tasting thin. The result was a nice dark coffee with a medium translucency. I could see the sides of my mug but, not the bottom.
(Before I go any further I should mention that the aroma of this coffee is amazing. Why is it that certain coffees just smell so darn good?)
The first sip tasted woodsy. I guess that is what one would expect based on the name. Followed up with a hint of citrus and a chocolate finish. The layers were prevalent and noticeable, simply put- this coffee is full of depth. The mouth feel was pleasant, I would not call it silky but, easy to drink none the less, with a medium body.
If you are a fan on Vermont Country Blend or Nantucket, this K-cup is so right up your alley. All medium roast drinkers will be quite happy with Autumn Harvest. Light roast and dark roast fans- the jury is hung. It depends how extreme you are with your preferences.
Have you tried Autumn Harvest yet? What did you think?
