The anticipation was intense, the build-up was exciting. Keurig® led us on for months with hints about the stunning new K-Cup® pod brewer they would be releasing – Keurig 2.0. This highly coveted piece of machinery was going to revolutionize our morning cup of joe. For many, it did but left others outraged.
Keurig® 2.0 Brewer Won't Work with All K-Cup® Coffee
Coffee drinkers turned out in droves to be the first to try this remarkable new coffee brewer only to be left with an empty mug when they got home. What big box retailers failed to inform their customers was Keurig 2.0 would only brew certain pods. They further exasperated the issue by continuing to sell coffee that would not brew with 2.0, issuing the dreaded oops message.
Let me follow up by saying, I am a huge fan of the new brewing technology that comes with Keurig 2.0. In addition, I do not condone using off-brand pods. It is simply not what is best for the machine and may affect the warranty. With over 200 varieties of approved coffees and teas, certainly, you can find one that suits your tastes. With that said, I like you, despise being told what to do or in this case what to drink.
Which Keurig Uses All K-cup® Pods
For the rebels like us, there is an option. There are still several models of Keurig® brewers that will brew any K-Cup® coffee. All of the classic Keurig® models that were here long before 2.0 are still around. Ranging from the K40 all the way up to the K3000. My very favorite still remains the K1500 commercial-grade brewer. This unit is built to last in any home or office and gives you more bang for your buck. Most importantly the K1500 will brew any type of capsule.
We can all stop feeling as if we have lost our freedom of choice. Purchase a classic model and you can brew anything you want!
