Keurig Kcups

Over the next few weeks we will be sharing a roaster profile of our favorite companies offering Keurig Kcup coffee to help you decide.

Up this week,  the one and only original Kcup roaster… Green Mountain Coffee.

Green Mountain Coffee

Green Mountain Coffee is the queen bee,  the original roaster of Keurig Kcups.  It all started in 1992 with Keurig’s innovative single serve coffee brewer.  They started a revolution and shortly after Green Mountain joined in.  Keurig made the careful decision to partner with Green Mountain because of their high standards for superior quality coffee, mindfully sourced by their own experts in the field and their commitment to Fair Trade. Not only does Green Mountain settle for nothing less than the best when it comes to the quality of their coffee but,  they are also an environmentally and socially conscious organization.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Green Mountain Coffee facility in Waterbury, VT..  Waterbury is a quaint town nestled in the beautiful Green Mountains.

Green Mountain Coffee was founded in 1981 as a small cafe serving 100% Arabica coffee,  as a matter of fact it was this high standard delicious coffee that led them to Bob Stiller who started as a customer and loved the coffee so much he decided to buy the company.  Mr. Stiller took this company on a roller coaster ride over the next few years leading them straight to the top. From a small cafe to a massive power house in the coffee industry. For a full history click here.

When I visited Green Mountain coffee I was shocked by 2 things, first, the pure love of coffee every employee showed. Second, the commitment to the environment.  Every single step of the coffee production had this in mind.  From using bio diesel fuel in their trucks, to cups made from plant oils to solar panels powering their facility and Fair Trade sourcing.  After many years of partnering with Green Mountain,  even after their massive growth,  I can still say this today.

As you might guess Green Mountain offers the largest variety of Keurig Kcup coffees.  They have chosen to somewhat segment where these varieties can be purchased.  There are certain roasts available in retail stores and others available in grocery stores.  To have access to the largest variety of Green Mountain Kcup coffees you will need to seek out a Keurig Authorized Distributor,  good news,  we happen to know a very good one, Cross Country Cafe of course : )

We are pleased to be able to offer over 50 varieties of Green Mountain Kcup coffees! There are several segments of Kcups allowing you to choose the perfect cup:

1- Lightmedium or dark roasts

2- Regular or flavored

3-Extra bold

4-Decaf or regular

5-Teas, hot cocoa, apple cider and other specialty Kcups

6-Special seasonal flavors

There is no other roaster that can boast this kind of variety.  Green Mountain= Kcup coffee. As a matter of fact all Kcup coffee except for cheap renegade knockoffs that you don’t want to drink anyways, fall under the Green Mountain umbrella in one way or another.  They are a true Cinderella story and have managed to maintain quality and integrity along the way.
