Nutella Stuffed French Toast

We are nutella crazy in my household, my daughter is the biggest culprit.  She puts it on everything- pretzels, sandwiches, apples... you name it.  I don't particularly blame her though, everything tastes better covered in Nutella!  French toast is one of our favorite things to have for breakfast (or dinner) so it was basically kismet- the two must be combined.

Let's get to the recipe...

You will need:

2 slices of bread
1 egg
1 tablespoon of milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

-Start by beating together the egg, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl. A shallow bowl will work best.

-Spread Nutella on one slice of bread and put the other on top to make a sandwich.

-Dip the sandwich into the egg mixture and flip it over a couple of times to fully coat it and let some of the egg and milk soak into the bread.

-Preheat a griddle or pan on the stove to medium high heat.

-Cook the french toast for about 2-3 minutes per side or until it begins to brown and is warmed through.

-Dust with powdered sugar to make it fancy

You can get creative with the stuffing, too! Try adding some bananas or peanut butter to make it extra yummy!

Nutella stuffed french toast is absolutely packed with flavor. When you choose a K-cup coffee to pair with this tasty breakfast (dessert) go simple.  I would recommend a dark roast such as Folgers Black Silk.  The smooth, rich taste will compliment the sweetness of the Nutella quite nicely!
