HowtomakeaTwinkieFrappuccino

Let me just start by saying Twinkies are not a regular item in my household but, I was somehow conned into purchasing a box last week.  I felt like  a terrible mother buying them but, we eat really healthy for the most part and it was a fun digression from the norm! My eleven year old daughter experienced pure joy with the consumption of her first ever Twinkie and the rest of the family happily joined in.  I have no idea how this all led me to turn this heavenly dessert into a frappuccino- all I can say is I saw them in the cupboard and a purely genius light bulb went on.

Let's get to the recipe...

You will need:

2 Twinkies

1 dark roast K-cup coffee (I chose Wicked Winter Blend for mine but, any ol' strong Kcup will do.)

1 cup of ice

1 cup of vanilla almond milk (you can sub regular milk and 2 Tbsp of vanilla syrup such as this kind)

whipped cream

- Start by brewing your strong Kcup on the lowest water setting of you brewer.  Place the brewed coffee in the freezer until chilled (not frozen!).

- Combine the now chilled coffee, ice, vanilla almond milk and 1 1/2 of the Twinkies in a blender.

- Blend until well combined.

- Pour into a large glass, top with whipped cream.

- Crumble the remaining 1/2 Twinkie on top of the whipped cream.
(serves 2)

Sip and enjoy!

This is hands down my favorite frappuccino to date.  It is creamy and sweet but not overpowering.  The vanilla flavor does not taste perfumy as it often does at the coffee shop.  I kept this one all to myself but, I am quite certain it would be a huge hit with any teenager!
